Circumstances ....
hi .
I am really busy these days, my midyear exams will start next Sunday and will continue till the eighth of February.
Wish me luck, I'll need it ..
the electricity is really bad (we didn't have electricity for several days), & the temperature is 9 under zero C (the water in our tanks was frozen!!!) as you know we don't have fuel for the heaters, so we are freezing slowly!! what a great way to star the 2008 ?!! and what a wonderful conditions for students to start their exams?!!
adding to all of that, the situation is really really bad in mosul ..
I still want to speak about a lot of things, but I don't have time, but I promise I'll write in the midyear holiday ( which will last for 15 days ) ..

Good Luck with Everything Sunshine. I'll pray for your safety.
I have some biology final exams coming up... Arrrg! and we're in the most difficult module. in two weeks we get to dissect things, i think we're starting with an oyster. we're doing a fish, starfish, lobster, and frog. Have you heard anything recently about Mustafa's condition?

One when my dad was sent down to San Diego for 5 months our washer, dryer, dishwasher, and water heater ALL broke. We would drive to the nearby subbase to take showers at the pool. We spent a few of those nights without power, but we have a big woodstove to keep us warm.
Again,

Wow! I can't imagine haveing to live under those conditions. Freezing, war, school exams. How you do it and keep up your positive attitude is beyond me. I would have a hard time doing it. Good luck with your exams and I look forward to your next post. Stay safe.
Sorry, this is like my third post, but I found this after lookign on Dean's world. Everyday twice a day I look at your blog, and then select links on you blog. I found this really cool article which I quote here:
"And on Monday in Mosul, Iraqi Special Operations Forces detained a terrorist cell leader. His cell was involved in storing and emplacing IEDs and car bombs for use in attacks throughout Mosul. He is also believed to be involved in the kidnapping and murder of innocent Iraqi civilians."
Hopefully this means the violence will finally start slowing down with the success of Op. Phantom Phoenix.
Apologies for my multiple comments,
Cat
Hang in there, Sunshine. I'm hoping things will get better for you, your city, your country soon. At least, let's hope for an early spring!
Holding you and yours in my daily meditation.
So cold!? Wow, I hope you can get some pictures for us. Good luck with your exams, but I'm sure you'll do well no matter how hard it is to study :)
Sorry things are so bad in Mosul.
Good luck on your exams. It is a wonder you can get on with any schooling under such adverse conditions. I admire you strength of character.
I didn't realize it was a cold there as you say. It is almost as cold as where I live in Canada
I've been reading your blog for awhile. Good luck on your exams and thank you for letting americans know how things are going. I work in a desert and know how cold it can get there.
It is nice to know about someone´s life there in Iraq...
Hope you´re going well! Good luck!
Reading from Mexico!
sounds like bad conditions to prepare for exams for. but good luck with them, i look forward to hear from you again
I send blessings of love to you from Houston, Texas USA. Keep your light shining. Pam
Good luck on your exams. It's difficult to study when you're cold.
As long as your water and food don't freeze, you should be alright, uncomfortable, but alright. You'll need lots of blankets.
You kind of remind me of the life our 16th preisdent Abe Lincoln had when he grew up. He was raised in a log cabin. He had no electricity or running water. He had to study under the light of a candle or oil lamp.He had a hard life but he worked hard and became one of our best presidents. Sounds like you have those same qualities.
Sunshine, the photos are great, but please put captions. I'd like to know where the pictures were taken, what the meals are....
wish you the best for your exams. and i will look forward with anticipation to your next post. :)
Bundle up as much as you can to retain normal temperature and let u fight with the freezing environment.
Take care and God bless.
Dearest Sunshine. All the best for your exam. I'm so sorry about the bitter cold.Even this shall pass. Hope God makes it bearable for you and your folks to withstand it and try to live a normal life. You are a tough kid. Take care
Dear Sunshine,
I'm so sorry to hear that conditions are still bad, and I'm especially sorry about the electricity and the cold.
I'm still praying for you and your family.
P.S. Do they really need to give you two weeks of exams? How "examined" do you really need to be? Good luck anyway.
Hang in there, Sunshine. You have many friends here in the Czech Republic wishing you a better life.
The last time I was in Baghdad was in 1978 (building the Baghdad University auditorium blocks) and miss the people very much.
