A child's suffering ..

It was a tough week for me , I realized how hard it is to have very sick child , specially when you don't have money ..
I heard about a sick boy's story , that touched my heart, I decided to help him in every possible way , because he deserves another chance to live. this is his doctors' report:
"Mohamed Mutaz Abdullah is 13 years old boy with history of C.D.H (congenital dislocation hip ), after birth developed repeated UTI with renal tubular acidosis treated with shole solution( Poly Citra) for 5 years ( since 1995 ) , 2 years later he recovered from his illness but started to develop chronic diarrhea and abdominal distension with loss of weight. , endoscopy and Duodenal biopsy had been done , result suggest Coeliae disease. The boy now is on Gluten free diet with failure to grow and under mineralized teeth with multiple fractures (ectodermal dysplasia)" .
Dr. Rabee Al- Dubuni.-M.B.CH.B. FICMS(Paed).
Dr.hisham Saied Marie –M.B.CH.B.-C.A.B.P.
M.B.CH.B.GP.- Dr.Aladdin N.Altaweel

Mohamed's family had to sell their own house to cover the payments, as you know the hospitals here are in awful situation and the medications aren't available , his parents wanted to take him to Jordan for curing , but their financial condition is so bad..
I met Mohamed today, he is very weak, tiny , and thin , he is not in a good health, he weigh 23 kilogram , and he is only 130 cm tall !!!!!!!.

I am trying to find organizations or someone can help , if you can help in any way , please leave a comment , or E-mail me , my e-mail address is livesstrong92@yahoo.com
His parents will very much appreciate your help , so will I .

I am happy to help this boy ,although I hesitated at first from publishing his story ( pride issue !! ) …
Stay safe ,
Sunshine ..

Sunshine, I am sorry to hear about this boy and his family's problems.
Please go to Najma's October 4 post and read the lists that she jhad contacted. Also read David's comments on that same post. There is a possibility that help might be available.

I greatly admire you for your effort in helping this family.

For anyone who doesn't understand, the weight of the boy is 50.6 pounds. That's terribly small for a 13 year old child.

I hope that this will be of some help.

Stay safe and remember we all admire you.

Dear One,
What a wonderful heart you have. In the midst of your own busy and challenging life, you are thinking of this young lads family and his needs. You are an angel.
I don't know what I can do aside from fowarding the information, and praying. Consider it my honour to do both.

Hello Sunshine,
I have found two websites that provide a lot of information about Coeliac disease and Ectodermal Dysplasia. Please check them out, as they seem to indicate that the prognosis for Mohamed may be a positive one. The most important treatment for Coeliac disease is apparently the glutin free diet, which Mohamed has already begun. I hope these websites will be helpful to you.

Our pastor's son has celiac disease and was very small as well. About three years ago, he had surgery with removal of a section of his bowel. He is now 17 years old and has grown in height, gained weight and is doing well.
Your friend has some other conditions and I pray that the help can be found for him. I will forward this story to Sick Children's Hospital in Toronto, Ontario Canada. They have brought children from other countries before for procedures. No promises but you never know.

Hey Sunshine,

The hospital Kim was referring to (Sick Children's Hospital) is the same one I had suggested to you. They have a fund called the Herbie Fund for exactly this sort of thing (bringing children from other countries to Canada for treatment). There are a few US and European based charities that do the same sort of thing.

The big issue here is that, for Coeliac Disease (also called celiac disease), the main treatment is not anything you would get in a hospital, it is a special diet that has no gluten in it (gluten is a component of grains). You mentioned that the boy is eating rice and potatoes - he needs to eat more things, to ensure he has a proper balanced diet but without gluten. The fact that he has undercalcified teeth means he's not getting enough calcium in his diet. He may be missing other nutrients also.

I know you are in contact with him and his parents. The biggest way you may be able to help them is to give them information on what he can eat. There are also some recipe booksthey can get that would help. The important thing here is a balanced diet - he needs protein, vitamins, minerals, etc., and he won't get all that on just rice and potatoes.

Bush goes ballistic about other countries being evil and dangerous, because they have weapons of mass destruction. But, he insists on building up even a more deadly supply of nuclear arms right here in the US. What do you think? Why has bush turned our country from a country of hope and prosperity to a country of belligerence and fear.
Our country is in debt until forever, we don't have jobs, and we live in fear. We have invaded a country and been responsible for thousands of deaths.
We have lost friends and influenced no one. No wonder most of the world thinks we suck. Thanks to what george bush has done to our country during the past three years, we do!
